7&8 Parent/Teacher Interview Booking
Parent-teacher interviews for students in grades 7 & 8 will take place on Thursday, February 22nd from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Dismissal for this interview day for all grades (7– 12) is 1:30 p.m. The interview booking system was open on Friday, February 16th at 5:00 pm (indicated on our webpage). You can access an appointment by accessing the You Can Book Me link.

Nokia Summer Paid Internship
Nokia Summer Paid Internship - for students going into grade 12 who are curious, interested or have a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, this is the internship for them. The Future Tech Internship is a 7-week program that will have students working alongside Nokia engineering teams solving real, technical problems. Over the course of the summer, students will contribute to meaningful work while receiving support and valuable lessons from a Nokia Future Tech Mentor. Applications are due March 9th.

Nav Canada Summer Camp Opportunity

NAV CANADA’s Explore Aviation Summer Camp - this summer, 20 girls entering Grade 10 in September 2018, will gather from July 15th - 20th. Their mission: one week of learning with a focus on aviation (fly drones, practice air traffic control and flight service sessions in real world training simulators, interact with industry speakers). Applications for this all-expenses-paid camp are due March 9th.

Youth in Policing Initiative
Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) - the Youth In Policing Initiative (YIPI) is an employment program with the Ottawa Police Service for youth 15-18 years of age who are attending a secondary school program. The goal of the YIPI program is to give young people an opportunity to develop job skills while enhancing police and community relations. Deadline to apply is March 10th at 4:00 p.m.

Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada
This three-week summer exchange brings together youth and adult mentors from Canada to promote mutual understanding and prepare youth to make a difference in their communities. The all-expenses-paid exchange runs from July 16th - August 4th, in Ottawa, New York state, and Washington. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, aged 15 - 18 years old, have at least 4 months remaining of school (no June 2018 grads), and be dedicated to community service. Preference will be given to applicants from under-represented populations, new Canadians, and Indigenous populations. See poster, SUNY webpage, or application portal for more information. Deadline to apply is March 31st.

Paint it Up!
Funding is available for outdoor mural art projects that support graffiti prevention, youth empowerment, community safety and the beautification of Ottawa neighbourhoods. Projects must contribute to a clean, safe and beautiful city by engaging neighbourhoods and youth in a constructive learning process to create murals to prevent or deter graffiti.
